The Paralegal Cup is the only mooting competition in the world that is exclusive to Paralegal students enrolled in a Certificate or Diploma program. The competition strengthens student advocacy and critical thinking skills by focusing on oral and written advocacy, professionalism, and resiliency.
For the past two years I have volunteered at the Paralegal Cup which is an Intercollegiate Mooting Competition. I cannot possibly say enough about this event. We have seen the top students from around the province who have thoroughly impressed the paralegal and academic communities alike. This event has grown in popularity.
I am proud to have been part of this event in past years and am looking forward to volunteering again in 2015. One of my objectives and commitments to the Paralegal Cup Standing Committee is to try and recruit colleges and students to participate in this event.
I am really deeply impressed. I have been in law school moots, I have judged moots, and I have coached moots. I have never seen more effectively organized and better advocacy demonstrated in a moot competition, anywhere I have been.

The Paralegal Cup is the only extra-curricular academic event in Ontario that provides paralegal students with the opportunity to compete in the art of oral advocacy.
Your contribution to our non-profit event, gives you a unique opportunity to encourage extra-curricular academic skill development and support experiential paralegal education in Ontario.
Community Donors are important supporters of the mission and goals of the Paralegal Cup. Contributions in any amount help support and offset the administrative costs of organizing a large-scale event. Such costs include food for students and judges, awards for the student competitors, printing, marketing, prizes, and general facilities overhead costs.
Our IndieGoGo campaign is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your commitment to the paralegal profession.
At its heart, the Paralegal Cup is about students. Students are the future of the paralegal profession. The students who participate in the competition become stronger and more confident advocates. As they graduate into the profession, they are better prepared to deliver Ontarians increased access to justice.
Are you a student? Are you a paralegal? Do you work in the legal services sector? Are you a member of the public? Would you like to get involved and support a non-profit academic event?
Volunteers are critical to the success of the Paralegal Cup. Without the countless hours of tireless efforts from numerous community volunteers, the Paralegal Cup would not be possible.
Whether leading up-front or supporting behind the scenes, the Steering Committee is always seeking volunteers to assist. We welcome any support, big or small. Not only is volunteering for the Paralegal Cup a great opportunity to meet new people, contributing to the competition's success by volunteering is a source of pride.
We just want to take an opportunity to thank you all so much for volunteering your time. The competitors, the judges and of course, our volunteer team.
It is beyond generous and it was more than we could have ever expected. This weekend was amazing and we are so thankful. It is due to each and everyone of you. Your willingness, your commitment to the paralegal community, your desire to improve access to justice on Ontario and your love of education.
So thank you so very much for being here and being a part of the Paralegal Cup.
